With a focus on Navigating Change, The Business of Healthcare Conference will be presented on February 6, 2026 at the University of Miami – Coral Gables Campus. The annual Miami Herbert Business School  event brings together U.S. and global industry leaders to provide valuable insights into the most pressing issues shaping the health sector today. Medicaid reforms, pricing pressures, premium increases, and the reorganization of key government agencies are quickly reshaping U.S. health care. Panelists will address important issues, including:

  • How are providers, insurers, drugmakers, and patients managing shifting policy and public health priorities
  • How do they balance a drive toward lower costs with access and quality considerations

“Are AI and other disruptive technologies increasingly the answer to improved clinical outcomes and operational efficiencies?” queries Dr. Steven Ullmann, professor and director of the business school’s Center for Health Management and Policy. “CEOs and presidents of top U.S. healthcare associations will share their experiences and takeaways as they navigate the complex changes across the nation’s largest industry,” he adds. “Do not miss it!”

Speakers include Halee Fischer-Wright, MD, President and Chief Executive Officer, Medical Group Management Association; Stacy Hughes, Executive Vice President for Government Relations and Public Policy, American Hospital Association; Roger A. Mitchell Jr, MD, President, National Medical Association; Donna E. Shalala, Former Secretary of Health and Human Services, Professor Emerita, Miami Herbert Business School.
