UM’s Miami Herbert Business School Center for Health Management & Policy presented its latest iteration of The Business of Health Care event on February 24. Entitled Managing Through Uncertainty, this year’s program was centered around three Keynote Panels, titled A View from the Field, A Potential Roadmap and Innovation & the Role of Technology. Steven G. Ullmann, Professor and Director, Center for Health Management and Policy, Miami Herbert Business School delivered Opening and Closing Remarks.

Three former federal secretaries of health headlined the marquee. Notable speakers included Rachel Villanueva, MD, Immediate Past President, National Medical Association, Julio Frenk, MD, President of the University of Miami, Former Minister of Health of Mexico, Conor P. Delaney, MD, Chief Executive Officer and President, Cleveland Clinic Florida Region, Donna E. Shalala, 18th U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services, Former President of the University of Miami, Jay G. Wohlgemuth, MD, Senior Vice President, R&D, Medical and Chief Medical Officer, Quest Diagnostics and the Honorable Alex M. Azar II, 24th U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services.

The event was held online and in-person at Donna E. Shalala Student Center, University of Miami, Coral Gables Campus. For this 12th annual conference, Florida Blue was again a presenting sponsor and major donor.
